Resident Director Dance

The stunt choreographer of our time who has his early training under Muyiwa Oshinaike, and spent almost two decades in the theatre with vast experience across Arica and Europe working with renowned award-winning Directors and Choreographers like Susan Links, Peter Badejo, Clued Brumacheon, Christopher Abdul Yissa Onibasa, Arnold Udoka and Bayo Odunaya.

He is an expert in both African indigenous and contemporary European dances such as tap and Bata.

Utuedor’s dancing credits include Symphony of Fire Gore, Odunfa, The Lion and the jewel and an original piece of his own, bringing painting to life.

Abel started his dance career about 30 years ago with the group called giant pictures from where he proceeded to black marble to begin his professional career under Muyiwa Oshinaike. Abel has worked as a freelance dancer, choreographer with National troupe and he was one of
10 Africa dancers selected to feature in French Cultural Centre project.

Abel Utuedor was the head choreographer of the Ogun state dance company, Kakadu the Musical, Saro the Musical, Abel or Jaga, as he’s popularly called is one of the most recognized dancers and choreographer in Nigeria today.
